A single beginner lesson typically includes essential beach safety, foundational surf theory, and practical skills designed to help you feel comfortable with your board and confident in the water.
You will be provided with a beginner-friendly soft-top surfboard. I will explain the parts of the board and show you how to carry it safely.
A crucial part of the lesson focuses on essential surf safety, including recognizing potential hazards, understanding surfing etiquette, identifying currents and marine life, and learning how to fall safely.
We begin with stretches and warm-up exercises, followed by practicing key techniques, such as the pop-up—on the beach to build proper form and muscle memory.
Once we are in the water, you will learn how to position yourself correctly on the board and how to paddle effectively.

For your first ride, I’ll help you catch the whitewater and let you know when to pop up, giving you the chance to feel the wave and experience your first glide.
My goal is to help you successfully catch a wave, stand up, and ride it all the way to the shore while focusing on balance and maintaining a proper surf stance.
Throughout the session, I provide personalized feedback and guidance to support your progress. We typically end the lesson with a brief cool-down or reflection period to review what you learned and discuss next steps.
